- IYRES is the acronym for the Institute for Youth Research. The institute was formerly known as the Malaysian Institute for Research in Youth Development (IPPBM).
- IYRES functions as a national research centre responsible for examining various dimensions of youth trends and development, and their relationship with developments at the national, regional, and international levels.
- Conducting research on youth-related issues;
- Providing funding for youth-related research;
- Producing research outputs to support government policy planning and implementation;
- Implementing research support programmes to disseminate and promote research findings.
